Final Year Project 5 & 6

Week 5 & 6

In this week, the component mechanical start finding which is spur gear (Pinion) and rack. The select this component take two week, because it need some research about this component.The both part is function to rotate shaft dynamo. The spur gear (Pinion) will be install at dynamo and rack will be attach at ramp. The selection spur gear and will effect of dynamo.This project the spur gear and rack has been selected.

Final Year Project 2 Week 3 & 4

Week 3 & 4

In this week will be explain the dc booster circuit. Why this circuit need to use?. After test this dynamo it can  produce only 0V-4V, so it need to up the voltage to produce 12V. This was design and tested. Figure show the circuit design and tested.

Final Year Project 2 Week 2

Week 2 & 3

In this week, I start finding the data and material are related with my prototype. The data and material is get from internet, data sheet and catalog. After do some research about my prototype, I got one problem which is alternator, before this my prototype use alternator to produce power, but I change this alternator with dynamo. The problem that, before use an alternator is need to inject current. So I use a replace alternator with a dynamo. The advantage dynamo easy to get and cheap. Figure show the dynamo was used in my prototype.By replacing  this component, it need take time to study this component. All the information this component I get from website. The detail about this component will be explain in my report.

Week 1

At the week 1, meet with my supervisor to discuss a next progress. The discussion are related  my design prototype.The idea of my prototype, get from video website (you tube). This is important to ensure, I can design my prototype. From the website, there are a lot video related with my prototype, so this video can be my reference for my prototype.

Final Year Project 1 Week 13

For week 13, do the chapter 3 Project Proposal which is methodology. This chapter contains block diagram, flowchart, work plan and budget.



METHODOLOGY
The main focus of this project is to obtain the desired of output result and develop electrical generator by using kinetic energy concept. In this project, the simulation and equation also will be presented. The project are consist of problems exist, solution of ideas and developing of ideas.
    Block Diagram

The block diagram above showed the flow whole how this project functions. Ramp arrangement will produce kinetic energy when vehicles tyres apply the pressure on the ramp, at the same it will turn gearbox. The gearbox functioning as to increase speeds and torque an alternator. Since an alternator need forces to produces electricity. An alternator as electrical energy, it produces electricity in dc. The step-up converter DC-to-DC power converter with an output voltage greater than its input voltage. Power for the boost converter can come from any suitable DC sources, such as batteries, solar panels, rectifiers and DC generators.  The charger circuit from DC-to-DC power converter and the battery at the same time. The battery is use as a backup power supply if there is no vehicle run over. Inverter is an electrical power converter that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). Then converted AC can be at any required voltage and frequency with the use of appropriate transformers, switching, and control circuits.
